RISH 20th Anniversairy

Thank you for celebrating with us!
On September 11, 2025, the Research Institute for Spirituality and Health (FISG) celebrated its 20th anniversary with an open house and a festive evening program in Langenthal.
Numerous guests flocked to the institute in the morning. They gained insights into ongoing research projects, took part in interactive stations such as the religious psychology self-test, and participated in the anniversary quiz. Personal conversations and discussions led to a lively exchange about spirituality, health, and the future direction of the field of research.
In the afternoon, there were short presentations by Michael Ackert (“How do you measure religiosity and spirituality?”) and René Hefti (“Spirituality and health – what does the research say?”). The program was complemented by poster presentations and in-depth discussions with the guests.
The evening ceremony began with an aperitif and musical accompaniment. In their welcoming speeches, Pierre Alain Schnegg, Director of Health for the Canton of Bern, and Reto Müller, Mayor of Langenthal, praised the work of the institute and its importance for research and practice. Ruedi Josuran then conducted a live interview with Maria Drechsler, Micha Eglin, and Christoph Leiggener. Throughout the evening, colleagues, partners, and former co-founders and employees of the institute took the floor.
With exciting ideas, inspiring encounters, and a cozy conclusion with drinks and snacks, the anniversary celebration was a special day that honored the 20-year history of the FISG while also offering a glimpse into the future.
